Hello,

A common question we get is what tools are needed to build the Cheetah. The construction of the Cheetah is quite simple and does not require a lot of special tools. The exception to this is that it does require metric tools.

These are the must have tools.

  • Metric Wrenches sizes 7mm - 18mm

  • Metric Sockets 7mm -18mm

  • Drill

  • _meta_l file for instrument panel work

  • Metric Drill bits 3.2mm - 8mm

  • Step Drill comes in very handy

  • Rivnut Tool with sizes m3,m4,m5,m6
    I recommend an avk manual T handle tool. I'm sure there are tools
    that will work for you but I have had good luck with this tool.
    It is Available from bayfastening.com
    ask for these part numbers for a complete set including the attachments for
    sizes m3,m4,m5,m6.
    The full set is as follows BA-AA112, BA-AAT202-350, BA-AAT202-470,
    BA-AAT202-580, BA-AAT202-610


  • Soldering iron for panel connectors

  • Screwdrivers

  • Cable tensioner


    • Optional Tools
  • Dremal type tool for trimming.

  • Razor knife for the packaged parts.

  • Drills for your panel.

  • A portable cart to store the tool on or in that can be moved where you are working.
    I think I spent more time walking back & forth for tools then I did building.


    • This is not a 100% complete list but has most items needed for building the Kit.
