You should use a propeller that is appropriate for the engine you are installing. The jabiru 2200a that we are installing will get a Prince p-tip prop which will give us a little more performance and will be a bit quieter than most props. It is however about $1200 whereas a nice wood prop can be used. Before we post the length and pitch, we want to test the prop. Lonnie Prince from Prince aircraft is working with us to get a perfect match. We will do the same with a wood prop manufacturer and probably sensenich wood prop. The prop manufacturers are pretty good at matching an aircraft / engine combination.

Regards,

Jon

Hello,

See this _link_ to help calculate the best prop pitch.

http://www.culverprops.com/pitchselection.htm

We will be testing a 64/33 for climb performance (Length /Pitch) prop and are looking at a 62/38 prop as well. Other props will be looked at to obtain the best performance. We also have a Prince P-Tip prop in a 64/33 configuration coming. We will keep you updated on the performance difference with the different props.

Thanks,
Steve
